Reperationsguiden
|
|

Centre for Sustainable Design - CfSD
|
|
The Centre for Sustainable
Design (CfSD) was established in 1995 within the Faculty of Design at
The Surrey Institute of Art & Design, University College, in the UK.
CfSD has organised over 30 conferences and workshops, and undertaken a
wide range of research and training projects on eco-product
development and sustainable product design. It has achieved an
international reputation for high quality, innovative, leading-edge
work. CfSD is supported by an international advisory board.
The Centre for Sustainable Design (CfSD)
facilitates discussion and research on eco-design and environmental,
economic, ethical and social (e3s) considerations in product and
service development and design. This is achieved through training and
education, research, seminars, workshops, conferences, consultancy,
publications and Internet. The Centre also acts as an information
clearing house and a focus for innovative thinking on sustainable
products and services.
seeba - the South-East Environmental
Business Association - is the regional programme of The Centre for
Sustainable Design (CfSD). seeba is a business forum focused on
'producer responsibility' issues for manufacturers in the south-east
of England.

The eLCA project - ecosmes.net
|
|
eLCA 2 Project aims to achieve the
following main goals:
- to develop the awareness among SMEs of the opportunities offered
by green products
- to promote the development of a green services market
- to be the starting point for co-operation projects between
stakeholders of various industrial sector(public bodies, business
associations, firms, consultants and service centers,...)
These objectives will be achieved by
the production of a multilingual web site that:
- provides all the necessary material about IPP (information,
on-line and off-line training, simplified LCA and Ecodesign tools,
guidelines and best practices, alternative products and services)
- carries out product chain studies
(hotels, wood/furniture, metal products, construction, electronics
and electrical equipment, textile products) to collect data and to
identify overlaps with other IPP initiatives, the relevant
environmental impacts and the opportunities for adoption of best
practices
- creates a business structure
combining public funding and commercial agreements with
experienced SMEs service providers for its exploitation after a
testing period.

ELFNET
|
|
ELFNET (European Lead
Free soldering NETwork) is a European research network of the
national organisations, technical experts and industry bodies in
micro-electronics. ELFNET provides a platform to coordinate,
integrate and optimise research, enabling electronics producers in
the EU to meet an EU directive to introduce lead-free soldering by
1 July 2006. The work has resulted in the GreenPack Materials
Declaration Tool. This is a prototype for a web-tool allowing for
all actors along the supply chain to enter materials data about
electronic products, components etc. It allows suppliers to report
material data in an easy way and these on their part to acquire
data from their suppliers. Among other things, the tool includes
Guidelines for Material Data Flow Management |

GreenPack
|
|
GreenPack is a Nordic
industrial project enhancing the environmental performance of
electronics manufacturers and suppliers, and their products. The
long term objective is to make electronics companies adopt
environmental skills in management and product development and
benefit commercially from these skills. Its first phase, running
from 1999 till 2002, comprised research and development on
materials declaration, design guidelines and life-cycle cost
management as well as training activities and networking.
The work has resulted in the GreenPack
Materials Declaration Tool. This is a prototype for a web-tool
allowing for all actors along the supply chain to enter materials
data about electronic products, components etc. It allows
suppliers to report material data in an easy way and these on
their part to acquire data from their suppliers. Among other
things, the tool includes Guidelines for Material Data Flow
Management
The project is a joint effort between
the Nordic research organisations IVF (Sweden), IPU (Denmark),
SINTEF (Norway) and VTT (Finland).
Phase 1 was co-funded by member
companies and the Nordic Industrial Fund. In 2001 GreenPack
received EUREKA status (E!2523).
